Obituary

David L. Scholl, 67, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 6, 1946, in North Charleroi, he was a son of the late David P. and Mary Jane (Lambert) Scholl. David was a foreman with the Allenport plant of U.S. Steel. He retired as cemetery superintendent of Belle Vernon Cemetery. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Belle Vernon, member and Past Master of Tri County Lodge F and AM No. 252 and was a founding member of the Speers Boat Club. He was also a member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Association, the Belle Vernon Moose, Pricedale Russian Club and the Arnold City PNA Club. He is survived by his son, Erik D. (Laurie) Scholl of Fayette City; daughter, Kirsten (Sean) Dougherty of Havre de Grace, Md.; seven grandchildren, Caelan Scholl, Eryn Scholl, Ryan Treadwell, Brennan Treadwell, Patrick Dougherty, Scott Dougherty and Daniel Dougherty; his longtime companion, Elena Ballone of Rostraver Township; and his two special dogs, Donnie and Marie. Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934,http://www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. Family and friends are asked to meet 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 511 Fayette St., Belle Vernon, for a funeral service, with the Rev. Suzanne Currie officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Tri County Lodge F and AM No. 252 will conduct a Masonic funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
